Dedicated to Glenn's memory: 2 Nov 1957 - 6 Aug 2024

The world turned upside down when Glenn was diagnosed with Advanced Metastatic Prostate Cancer in October 2018, meaning there was no cure. Despite this devastating news and limited treatment options, Glenn tackled his cancer journey through almost 6 years with determination, an indomitable spirit and good cheer.  He never gave up the fight or lost hope.

He completed several different types of gruelling, aggressive chemotherapy and immunotherapy.  He endured them all with a smile and such positivity. Earlier this year, Glenn started a phase 1 drug trial and immunotherapy treatment.  Typical scientist that he was, he became extremely enthusaistic about the science and wanted to help the research.  He felt this was the future for many forms of cancer, not just prostate.

Sadly, he developed Haemophagocytic Syndrome (HLH) as a side effect of the treatment in the last 6 weeks of his life.  HLH is a very rare immune system disorder that causes the body's immune system to overeact and attack its own blood cells. As this is so rare there is a lack of research and limited treatment options.

He never ever gave up hope and he wanted nothing more than to get more time and help future research, which is why he would urge you to donate to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, a charity so close to our hearts as he had the best medical and nursing team, who tried everything to help him live.

Glenn was a wonderful loving and caring husband to the love of his life, Karen and is missed hugely by all the many members of his loving family.  We are all thinking of Glenn every day.

Please help us celebrate his life by sharing your messages, memories in the tribute , thoughts and life story sections below and don't forget your photos/videos and music.

Glenn was an irrepressible man who was full of life and was never afraid to show his love and kindness.  He also had a much admired career as a forensic scientist so please share your stories and help us remember a fantastic life and career. xx
